Actor Heo Sung-tae captivated viewers with his portrayal of Kang Beom-ryong in MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama "50 Percent," which aired on the 22nd and 23rd. Heo Sung-tae opened the drama with intense charisma and a twist of comedic acting.

"50 Percent" tells the story of three ordinary men who once lived on the edge but are set in motion again by fate. Kang Beom-ryong, played by Heo Sung-tae, was once the second-in-command of the Hwasan faction, dominating the nation, and now runs a convenience store on Yeongsando Island.

In the early part of the drama, Beom-ryong infiltrated a passenger ship to secure an item related to National Intelligence Service Deputy Director 1, engaging in a fierce three-way battle with Jeong Ho-myung and Bong Je-soon amidst a storm. He raised the tension with action that risked his own body.

Ten years later, Beom-ryong lives as a kind convenience store owner, taking responsibility for the care of his older brother. He is searching for the missing "item" and revealed his side as a life-style comedian and a romantic lead through his chemistry with Ma Gong-bok and his affection for Park Mi-kyung.

In the final moments of the broadcast on the 23rd, he displayed his prime instincts to rescue the kidnapped Ma Gong-bok. Beom-ryong appeared at the scene in a suit, subduing his opponent with a sudden change in his eyes and action. Heo Sung-tae is leading the drama's progression by shifting between the charisma of the Hwasan faction's second-in-command and human warmth in this work.

"50 Percent" airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
