On the 26th, Netflix announced the production of a new series titled 'Halmae' and revealed its casting lineup: Lee Jung-eun, Kim Mu-yeol, Heo Jun-ho, Choi Sung-eun, Bae Na-ra, Seo Hyun-woo, and Moon Jong-won.

Netflix's series 'Halmae' is a noir action drama depicting the desperate revenge of 'Jeong Suk-ja', who wields a gun for her grandson, and 'Seo Yeon-woo', whose hunting instincts are awakened by Jeong Suk-ja, as they fight against the criminal organization Cheonghwa Group. The work stands out for its unique and fresh premise of a 70-year-old woman seeking revenge for her grandson, along with unpredictable plot twists that unravel the secrets of the criminal organization targeted for vengeance. From the subtle relationship between Jeong Suk-ja and Seo Yeon-woo as partners in revenge to the complex narratives of characters entangled with Cheonghwa Group, the story weaves together multiple layers.

Lee Jung-eun takes on the role of 'Jeong Suk-ja', who picks up a gun for revenge to protect her grandson. After raising her grandson alone while working at a restaurant, he suddenly falls victim to a mysterious attack one day, placing him on the brink of life and death. This turns her future upside down. Jeong Suk-ja decides to pick up the gun she held in her childhood after decades and take revenge into her own hands. Expectations are high for Lee Jung-eun's first challenge in action acting, continuing her boundary-breaking transformations across genres and characters.

Kim Mu-yeol plays 'Seo Yeon-woo', Jeong Suk-ja's ally and the mastermind behind the revenge plot. Seo Yeon-woo seeks out Jeong Suk-ja, who is boiling with grief and anger, reveals the connection between her grandson's accident and Cheonghwa Group, and awakens her hunting instincts. While helping her with his exceptional information-gathering skills and outstanding judgment, he remains a mysterious figure who seems to harbor some other hidden agenda.

Heo Jun-ho, radiating powerful charisma and an unparalleled presence, portrays 'Jang Gwang-cheol', the former leader of the Black Star faction and current chairman of Cheonghwa Group. Choi Sung-eun, Bae Na-ra, Seo Hyun-woo, and Moon Jong-won join the cast in supporting roles.

Meanwhile, 'Halmae' will be released on Netflix.
