Actor Choo Young-woo announced the birth of a three-dimensional character through his outstanding performance.

The stage was ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Yeon Ae (Dr.)' (directed by Ahn Pan-seok, written by Min Hyo-jung, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by Studio Gotti), which aired its first episode on the 5th. Choo Young-woo appears in this drama as 'Park Min-jae'.

Park Min-jae, who is enrolled in the doctoral program in robotics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seohan University, is an 'engineering god' with a brilliant mind and exceptional looks. Park Min-jae is a character who lost one leg to osteosarcoma in his childhood and has been living with the constant fear of recurrence even as he enters his 10th year after being cured of cancer. The deep inner anxiety harbored by Park Min-jae suddenly surfaces in daily life, which was depicted through seemingly calm, subtle changes in expression.

In particular, his first meeting with Im Yu-jin (played by Kim So-hyun) drew attention for a performance that highlighted his affectionate nature. When Im Yu-jin fell down, Park Min-jae ran straight to her without hesitating over his own disabled leg. After checking her wound, he calmly explained the importance of bipedal locomotion.

During the police investigation process, he showed the aspect of a principled person who does not compromise. Rather than being swept away by emotions or circumstances, he testified based on factual evidence and maintained his own firm standards. In the part where he explained the reason for majoring in mechanical engineering by referencing a scene from the manga 'Slam Dunk,' he also showcased a serious yet pure side.

Choo Young-woo added to expectations for performances that will deepen further in the upcoming developments with subtle temperature-difference acting in his gaze, expressions, and tone of speech in 'Yeon Ae (Dr.)'.

The new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Yeon Ae (Dr.)' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on ENA, and is also available on KT Genie TV and Disney+.
