Actor Hyun-seok, a former member of the group CIX, has been selected as the male lead in the new drama "Cheongdam International High School: Royal Camp."

His agency, Management Run, announced on the 6th that Hyun-seok has been cast in the role of So I-jun, the male protagonist of the drama "Cheongdam International High School: Royal Camp" (directed by Park Bong-seop, written by Oh Je-ra, produced by YN Media). This comes just three months after he announced his transition to acting with the tvN drama "My Favorite Employee," which concluded in September. Since CIX disbanded in April, he has begun his career as an actor and has proven his rapid growth by landing the lead role in "Cheongdam International High School: Royal Camp."

"Cheongdam International High School: Royal Camp" is a high school-set high-teen thriller genre drama that is currently in the midst of filming preparations. So I-jun, the character played by Hyun-seok, is a central figure in the story surrounding Cheongdam International High School within the drama. In this work, Hyun-seok is set to deliver a deeper performance by delicately portraying the emotional arc of So I-jun, who is cold and rarely reveals his true feelings.

According to the agency, Hyun-seok, who had gained approximately 10 kilograms for the role of Ji Young-hyun in the recently completed Tving series "Study Group Season 2," has since lost 12 kilograms to transform into So I-jun for "Cheongdam International High School."

The agency stated, "Hyun-seok is showing remarkable growth as an actor by adding intense efforts to build his character to the expressive power he has honed on stage over the years." They added, "As this work marks his first time being firmly established as a lead actor just three months after his acting debut, rather than simply being another upcoming project, global fans are already eager to see what kind of presence he will display at the center of the drama."
