Jeon Hyun-moo is currently active as the MC for SBS’s ‘Our Ballad 2.’

SBS’s ‘Our Ballad 2,’ which aired its first episode on Monday, the 5th, is a music audition program in which participants with an average age of 17.9 reinterpret timeless ballad hits with their own voices. Following Season 1, which produced versatile talents, the launch of Season 2 is expected to spark a new ballad craze this fall.

Jeon Hyun-moo will participate in Season 2, continuing from Season 1, as both ‘Top Baek-gwi’ (a neologism referring to a person with an uncanny ability to identify songs worthy of the Top 100 on music charts) and MC.

Jeon Hyun-moo said, “I’ve really been waiting for this,” introducing the participants who have become younger and more diverse, while firmly anchoring the center of the competition.

Whenever a classic song that once dominated its era was performed, Jeon Hyun-moo shared stories behind the tracks and even recreated signature poses unique to ballads, bringing lighthearted laughter to the tense competition venue.

As befits a veteran MC, he has been praised for his impressive ability to comfortably guide participants experiencing their first big stage. Jeon Hyun-moo spoke kindly to help nervous participants calm their emotions and offered generous encouragement after their performances. Additionally, when a new record for the highest score in the history of ‘Our Ballad’ was set with 147 votes, he conveyed the intense heat of the scene through his reactions filled with surprise.

In particular, during a performance expressing the loneliness felt due to the absence of a father, Jeon Hyun-moo earned high praise for “truly being Jeon Hyun-moo” by carefully observing and respecting the participant’s emotions in his hosting.

Jeon Hyun-moo demonstrated the presence befitting an ‘Oh Di-syeon (CEO) Music MC’ by providing comfort to nervous participants and adding vivid reactions to the stage. SBS’s ‘Our Ballad 2’ airs every Monday night at 10 p.m.
