The production team of MBC's variety show "I Live Alone" issued a statement amid claims that actress Kim Min's living in an old house was fabricated.

On the 7th, the "I Live Alone" team told StarNews, "The home shown on the broadcast where actress Kim Min lives is indeed her actual residence. There are no parts that were separately staged by the production crew."

They also explained regarding the use of a generator, stating, "We used it because electricity was not available." They added, "We wanted to show how she lives in accordance with the condition of the house," and re-emphasized, "Nothing was staged or arranged for filming purposes."

Previously, Kim Min appeared on the episode of "I Live Alone" broadcast on the 2nd, revealing her life in an approximately 90-year-old old house located in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province. She showed her life as a person living close to nature without filter, including operating a generator herself, repairing worn-out floors with cement, and grilling meat over a wood fire.

However, allegations of fabrication and staging suddenly emerged after the broadcast. The controversy began when an internet user revealed the appearance of Kim Min's house captured in road view footage from last July. Furthermore, suspicions grew that it was staged as reports surfaced that utility poles and power lines existed nearby.

In response, the "I Live Alone" team stepped forward to directly explain the situation and dismissed the related suspicions.

Nevertheless, the controversy is spreading in another direction. There are ongoing criticisms that tracking down Kim Min's residence under the guise of verifying the broadcast content is excessive. It has been reported that the number of people actually visiting Kim Min's home has increased, raising concerns about invasion of privacy.
