HD Hyundai Marine Solutions has officially launched a business cooperation with WeatherNews.

HD Hyundai Marine Solutions announced that it recently held a signing ceremony for the "Basic Agreement on Business Cooperation" at WeatherNews headquarters in Chiba, Japan, attended by Kim Seong-jun (CEO) of HD Hyundai Marine Solutions and Tomohiro Ishibashi, President of WeatherNews.

The two companies agreed to promote the initial domestic contract for an AI route optimization combined solution, conduct joint marketing targeting global clients, and expand digital cooperation utilizing ship data and AI technology.

In particular, since domestic validation has confirmed that the AI route optimization combined solution equipped with WeatherNews achieves fuel savings of at least 3% or more, both companies plan to accelerate commercialization through formal contracts based on this agreement.

HD Hyundai Marine Solutions and WeatherNews plan to sequentially expand the application of the AI route optimization combined solution to approximately 8,000 existing vessels.

An HD Hyundai representative told The Korea Economic Daily via telephone, "Our goal is to present the best solution capable of achieving both fuel cost reduction and compliance with environmental regulations."
