The film 'Assassin(s)' achieved a remarkable feat by topping the Korean box office and surpassing 3 million cumulative viewers.

'Assassin(s)', which has claimed the top spot on the Korean box office, is asserting its presence as a major hit in October's theater scene by crossing the 3rd-million-viewer milestone. The film tells the story of investigating the suspicions and masterminds behind the assassination attempt on the First Lady that shocked South Korea on August 15, 1974.

According to the Korea Film Council's integrated computer network, 'Assassin(s)' took first place on the Korean box office on October 11 and surpassed 3 million cumulative viewers on October 12, its 20th day of release, becoming the fifth Korean film released in 2026 to reach the 3rd-million-viewer mark.

Additionally, from October 5 to October 11, during its third week of release, the film attracted 758,587 viewers over the seven-day period, securing first place on the overall weekly box office for three consecutive weeks. As a result, it has demonstrated solid box office staying power by never relinquishing the top spot on the overall weekly box office since its release. In particular, the third-week audience count is an increase of approximately 90,000 compared to the second week's 667,968 viewers, showing a stronger box office momentum in its third week and drawing attention to its future performance.

It is also noteworthy that ratings from actual viewers have risen during the film's third week of release. Following an increase in Naver's actual viewer rating from 8.0 to 8.8, the CGV Golden Egg Index has also shown an upward trend, proving positive audience reactions. Given that it recorded a reverse run with rising actual viewer ratings even in its third week, expectations are high that audience praise and word of mouth will boost its box office momentum after the holiday period.

Meanwhile, 'Assassin(s)' is currently showing to great acclaim at theaters nationwide.
