Singer Kim Ho-joong, who is serving time for a drunk driving hit-and-run, has lost a compensation suit filed against 180 anti-fans.

On the afternoon of the 4th, the Civil Affairs Department 45 of the Seoul Central District Court held a date for a lawsuit filed by Kim Ho-joong against 180 people, including A, and ruled against the plaintiff.

In June 2021, Kim Ho-joong filed a lawsuit for damages worth 764 million won against 180 people who wrote negative posts and comments about him on the Internet. They reportedly left an article raising issues with the online community regarding the controversy over Kim Ho-joong's military service that erupted in 2020.

Kim Ho-joong acknowledged that their actions were not habitual and were only one-off, but claimed that they had a negative impact on Kim Ho-joong's honor and evaluation.

Kim Ho-joong was caught on charges of running away after hitting a taxi on the opposite side of the road on the road in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at 11:40 p.m. on May 9, 2024. Kim Ho-joong fled to a hotel in Gyeonggi-do Province and attended 17 hours later to be questioned by the police, strongly denying the drunk driving, but admitted to drinking belatedly after CCTV and other evidence videos were released.

Kim Ho-joong, who was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in both the first and second trials, appealed against the second trial's ruling, but eventually decided to give up his appeal and accept the remaining sentence.

Kim Ho-joong is scheduled to be released from prison in November.
