The boy group BTS has added a track that has surpassed 1.5 billion streams.

According to global audio and music streaming platform Spotify, BTS's digital single "Butter," released in May 2021, has exceeded 1.5 billion cumulative plays.

With this achievement, BTS becomes the third group song to reach 1.5 billion streams on Spotify, following "Dynamite" and their collaboration with Coldplay titled "My Universe."

The song debuted at number one on Billboard's main song chart, the Hot 100 (dated June 5, 2021). It later reached the top spot a total of ten times, setting a new record for the most Hot 100 number-one entries by the group. The track remained on the chart for 20 weeks in total. It also appeared on Billboard's Global 200 and Global (excluding U.S.) charts for 73 and 79 weeks, respectively.

The music video continues to enjoy strong popularity. In July, BTS added another milestone with "Butter," marking the group's seventh video to reach 1.1 billion views. At the time of its release, the video set a record as the fastest K-pop video to surpass 100 million views in history.
