Canadian pop singer The Weeknd took the Korean stage for the first time in eight years.

On the 7th, The Weeknd held "Hyundai Card Super Concert 28 The Weeknd" at the main stadium of Goyang Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. This concert marked his first visit to Korea since 2018 and was part of his stadium tour, "After Hours Til Dawn." All approximately 108,000 seats for the two-day event on the 7th and 8th were sold out.

Taking the stage wearing a metal mask, The Weeknd opened the show with "Baptized in Fear," launching into a spectacular start.

The audience, which filled the venue up to the restricted-view seats, sent out roaring cheers for The Weeknd. From the early part of the performance, he heightened the atmosphere in the arena with elaborate stage production utilizing lasers and lights.

The Weeknd then consecutively performed hit songs such as "Open Hearts," "Wake Me Up," "After Hours," "Starboy," "Heartless," "Faith," and "Cry for Me." Mid-song, he improvised by saying, "Korea, this is Goyang City," prompting cheers from the audience.

Removing his mask, The Weeknd smiled at the audience and said, "I'm also excited. I really missed you. Beautiful Korea" (meaning "Beautiful Korea"). As the audience cheered even louder in response, The Weeknd embraced himself, expressing gratitude for the massive reception.

Meanwhile, after officially debuting with his first full-length album, "Kiss Land," in 2013, The Weeknd gained worldwide acclaim through mega-hit songs such as "Blinding Lights," "Die For You," "I Feel It Coming (feat. Daft Punk)," and "Out of Time."

The current "After Hours Til Dawn" tour has continued to achieve top-tier box office success among male solo artists in history, recording 153 performances and a cumulative audience of approximately 7.5 million since July 2022.
