The group BTS's "SWIM" has surpassed a staggering 1 billion streams.

"SWIM," the title track from BTS's fifth full-length album "ARIRANG," released on March 20, has exceeded 1 billion cumulative plays on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify (as of October 24).

This marks the first time a song released worldwide this year has achieved this milestone, as well as the shortest period in the team's history. With this, BTS has added "SWIM" to its list of seven songs that have reached 1 billion streams, including "Dynamite," "Butter," and "Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey)."

"SWIM" achieved meaningful results at major popular music award ceremonies in 2026. It won "Song of the Summer" and "Song of the Year" at the U.S. American Music Awards and the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.

Its performance on major global charts has also been dazzling. The song entered at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard main song chart, Hot 100 (dated April 4), and remained in the rankings for 20 consecutive weeks. It also reached No. 2 on the UK Official Singles Top 100 (dated March 27 to April 2), setting a new record for the team. On Spotify, it topped the "Daily Top Song Global" chart with approximately 14 million streams on its first day of release. This is the highest daily play count among songs released in 2026.

BTS's new album "ARIRANG," released after a gap of three years and nine months, surpassed 5 billion cumulative streams on Spotify as of the 14th. It has the most plays among all albums released worldwide this year. All 14 tracks on the album, including the interlude track "No. 29" which features the bell sound of the Seongdeok Great King Bell, have exceeded 200 million streams. The even popularity across all included tracks is supporting the album's long-term success.
