'Hyundai Card Super Concert' returns after three years with global pop star The Weeknd.

Hyundai Card announced that it will hold 'Hyundai Card Super Concert 28: The Weeknd' at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province at 7:45 p.m. on October 7 and 8. This performance marks the third 100,000-capacity concert in the history of Hyundai Card Super Concert, following Coldplay in 2017 and Bruno Mars in 2023.

The Weeknd, the star of this performance, is recognized as a representative artist who brought the 'alternative R&B' genre, which combines R&B with hip-hop and electronic elements, into the mainstream of popular music. In particular, he has demonstrated his global influence by setting various records in the music streaming field.

In 2023, The Weeknd became the first artist to surpass 100 million monthly listeners on the global music streaming platform Spotify. Additionally, his hit song 'Blinding Lights' became the first song on Spotify to reach 5 billion streams in August last year, earning a place in the Guinness World Records.

This performance is part of The Weeknd's 'After Hours Til Dawn' stadium tour. Since its launch in July 2022, the tour has recorded a total of 153 performances and accumulated approximately 7.5 million attendees, continuing to achieve the highest level of box office success among male solo artists in history.

In particular, this stage marks The Weeknd's second performance for Korean fans. He first met domestic fans through the Hyundai Card Culture Project in 2018. While he presented a musical world that reinterpreted the R&B genre at that time, he is expected to showcase expanded music and performance as an artist representing the global pop market in this concert. Additionally, the popular Japanese hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts will take the opening stage to further boost the concert's energy.

A Hyundai Card official stated, "This will be a precious opportunity to experience a performance of completely different scale and meaning, presented by The Weeknd, the most influential pop star of the 21st century, who returns through Hyundai Card Super Concert at the peak of his career."
