Yoon Doo-jun, a member of the group Highlight, expressed his sigh over the South Korean national football team's elimination from the group stage of the 2026 North, Central America, and Caribbean World Cup.

On the 28th, through a fan communication platform, Yoon Doo-jun shared his feelings: "This is how our country's 2026 North, Central America, and Caribbean World Cup has ended. It is truly sad. I held onto the last hope, thinking there might still be a chance, but that hope has been cut off. It is over. It is too disappointing."

He continued, "Even if we had reached the 32nd round, I honestly did not expect to go beyond that. Honestly, even after the South Africa tournament, I naturally thought we would advance to the 32nd round. I thought we would get another chance."

He added, "There was no way. I feel that the World Cup is truly not easy. It is too disappointing."

Meanwhile, the South Korean national football team, led by coach Hong Myung-bo, finished third in Group A of the 2026 North, Central America, and Caribbean World Cup group stage with one win and two losses. In the third group stage match of Group K held earlier today, the Democratic Republic of the Congo defeated Uzbekistan 3-1 in a comeback victory, eliminating all possible scenarios for the South Korean national football team to advance to the 32nd round.
