Actor Han Jeong-soo has been relentlessly criticizing former national team coach Hong Myung-bo.

On the 29th, via his SNS, Han Jeong-soo stated, "I have always said that in life, the most important element is not the result but the attitude. He was the worst not only in results but also in attitude," pointing out the former coach.

On the same day, Han Jeong-soo also said, "He claimed he was serving, so if he has even a shred of conscience, he should at least return half of his salary. If he is a human being," while fiercely criticizing the former coach.

Han Jeong-soo's remarks appear to be a reference to last year when the former coach, in response to a question by the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee regarding his acceptance of the coaching position, mentioned that he "thought of serving for the Ma Ji-mak-e (CEO) team."

Meanwhile, the South Korea national football team failed to advance to the Round of 32 after being eliminated in the group stage of the 2026 North, Central America, and Caribbean World Cup, finishing third in Group A. As responsibility debates arose, the former coach voluntarily resigned and entered the country at around 3:52 a.m. on the 30th amid jeers from football fans. No separate homecoming event was held.
