YouTuber 'Honorary British Citizen' Baek Jin-kyung revealed her connection with director Hong Sang-soo.

On the 23rd, a video titled 'Honorary Foreigner Baek Jin-kyung Special Guest' was posted on the YouTube channel 'Chimchakman'.

The released video showed Baek Jin-kyung meeting Chimchakman.

Chimchakman asked Baek Jin-kyung, "What was the reason you first went to the UK?" and Baek Jin-kyung replied, "I went on a work-and-holiday visa. I went to the US before the UK. I transferred from Konkuk University's film department to go for a 'escape study abroad' in the US. I didn't want to stay in Korea."

In response, Chimchakman asked about the reason she entered Konkuk University's film department. Baek Jin-kyung honestly said, "I got in by matching my scores. My dad told me I had to go to a 'famous university.' In the past, there were groups A, B, and C. After failing groups A and B, I was accepted as a reserve candidate for group C at Konkuk University."

Regarding why she didn't feel attached to her college life, Baek Jin-kyung said, "Perhaps because it wasn't what I wanted to do originally, I have always liked music and art. When I entered the film department and tried making films, it was really too hard. I thought if it was this difficult, it wasn't my aptitude."

She added, "The professor was Hong Sang-su (Prof.), but everyone made films like Hong Sang-su (Prof.). I wanted to make blockbusters. It wasn't about independent films. I decided to go for 'escape study abroad' because I thought I needed to open my eyes in Hollywood. Originally, I planned to stay only about three months, but since it was so good, I ended up staying."
