Actress Jung Ryeo-won paid tribute to the late Director Ahn Pan-seok.

On the 14th, on her own account, she wrote, "Director... I still can't believe it. Although I had been preparing my heart for this... I still don't quite know how I feel," expressing her mixed emotions over the director's passing.

She added, "Thank you for sparking inspiration in the hearts of many actors. You may not realize how hard the actors worked just to receive that 'first-place' stamp from you. It was a happiness to be able to carry that mindset throughout the filming."

She also recalled, "Thank you for teaching me that I must live close to reading. Thanks to your greater focus on subtraction rather than addition, I began to see what is essential. Now I think I understand a little why you focused more on 'being' than on 'doing.' Thank you for not compromising on certain things at the scene until the very end."

Jung Ryeo-won added, "Ah... I was really holding it together well. But when I heard the Beatles song played at the wake, I couldn't help but cry a lot. Director, please be at peace."

Jung Ryeo-won had previously worked with the late Director Ahn Pan-seok in the tvN drama "Graduation," which aired in 2024.

Meanwhile, Director Ahn Pan-seok passed away on the 12th after his health deteriorated while battling a brain hemorrhage. He was 64 years old.

Director Ahn Pan-seok directed dramas including "White Tower," "The Qualities of a Wife," "Secret Love," "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "Pretty Nuna Who Buys Me Dinner," "Spring Night," "Graduation," and "The Negotiation." The new ENA Monday-Tuesday drama "Yeon Ae (Dr.)," which finished filming in February and is scheduled to air in October, became his final work.
