Actor Kim Nam-gil continued his relentless work ethic by serving as the MC for two major award ceremonies on consecutive days.

Following the 35th Bae Il Film Awards held in Busan on the 7th, Kim Nam-gil took the microphone back-to-back at the Seoul Drama Awards 2026, which was held in Seoul on the 8th. In addition to showcasing his signature wit and quick thinking at two award ceremonies representing film and drama, he skillfully adjusted the pace according to the nature of each event, fully demonstrating the qualities befitting the "Man of Award Ceremonies."

At the Bae Il Film Awards, Kim Nam-gil teamed up with actress Chun Woo-hee as co-MCs for the second consecutive year. The two, who had acted together in the 2017 film "One Day," displayed a comfortable and natural rapport that proved their long-standing connection. In particular, a more relaxed Kim Nam-gil engaged in lively banter with Chun Woo-hee while also handling spontaneous situations during the live broadcast with seasoned composure, injecting laughter into the audience.

Kim Nam-gil, who is set to play Prince Suyang in his upcoming film "Dreaming of Peach Blossoms," sparked attention by offering a surprise apology to Park Ji-hoon, who won the Star of the Year award for portraying King Danjong in the film "The Man Who Lived with the King." The witty remark drawing on the historical relationship between the two figures elicited loud laughter from the venue. Having declared last year that he would "change the landscape of hosting," he kept his promise with a more polished conversational skill, and online reviews also praised him, asking, "Can hosting an awards ceremony be this fun?"

After completing his Busan schedule, Kim Nam-gil moved directly to Seoul and took the stage at the Seoul Drama Awards 2026 the following day alongside announcer Lee Jae-eun. Unlike the lively tone of the previous day, he maintained the dignity befitting an international award ceremony with a calm and composed voice. He also served as an official ambassador for this year's Seoul Drama Awards, fully fulfilling his role as the face of the event while adding smooth hosting skills.

Kim Nam-gil's exceptional energy and eloquence in leading long-form live broadcasts are already well known. Following a fan meeting that exceeded five hours and sparked intense buzz, he has also demonstrated unparalleled conversational skill in special episodes such as Episode 100 of the web variety show "Excuse Me," showcasing his characteristic tireless passion.

This passion is also evident in his all-around activities across various fields. This year, he showcased his musical abilities through the release of a new song and festival performances, while radiating approachable charm on various variety shows. Currently, he is dedicated to filming SBS's new drama "Nightmare," and the release of the film "Dreaming of Peach Blossoms" is also approaching. His professional demeanor stands out as he took charge of award ceremonies for two consecutive days, moving between Busan and Seoul amidst a non-stop schedule of works.
