Movie The Taste of Money is sold to fifteen countries.

On May 29, the distribution company Synergy reported The Taste of Money (directed by Im Sang Soo) was sold to fifteen countries including the U.S., U.K., France, Japan, and Singapore at the Cannes Film Market.

The Taste of Money is a film that frankly describes a wealthy family’s desire toward money and sex. It is directed by Im Sang Soo, who also directed The Housemaid, and starring Yoon Yeo Jung, Baek Yoon Sik, Kim Hyo Jin, and Kim Kang Woo.

The Taste of Money premiered at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival on May 26 (local time). It couldn’t win but was sold to fifteen countries at the Cannes Film Market.

Jonathan Sehring, president of IFC Entertainment who distributed such Korean films as Secret Sunshine and The Good, the Bad, the Weird, says, “No one can make movies like Im Sang Soo. The Taste of Money is one of the most decadent and sensational films, cleverly commenting about the life of wealthy and famous people of our time.”

The Taste of Money, which has attracted over a million audiences in Korea so far, is now ready to attract the overseas audiences.
