SBS’s survival audition program K-pop Star 2 will start auditions in Korea on August 17 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul.

The first season of the show, which drew a lot of attention, went off air in April. The participants multiplied by almost five-fold compared to the first season. The production crew made ten more audition booths and is considering a more effective way to receive all participants.

The program is currently doing the ARS examination. The production crew said, “We expect to see lots of talented participants who might have a better competitive spirit over the season one participants. People who really want to become a singer will appear on the show.”

Teams that find rookies and expert groups from three agencies, SM, YG, and JYP, will join the audition as jury members to find the next Park Ji Min and Lee Ha Yi. An official for the audition program says, “We are looking for a real star not just an audition star. We will look each participant’s talent, performance, and various abilities as a star.”

The show will visit five cities, including, New York, LA, London, Australia, and Vancouver to hold global auditions after holding Korean auditions.
