2PM��s Nichkhun will be sent to the public prosecutor��s office without detention

On August 7, the Kangnam Police Station reported that Nichkhun will be sent to the public prosecutor’s office without detention for hitting a motorcycle while driving under the influence on July 24.

A spokesperson for the Kangnam Police Station said, “Our investigation of this accident is almost over. We’ll complete all investigations and send all records to the public prosecutor’s office.”

On July 24, Nichkhun, while driving under the influence, ran into a motorcycle that was entering an intersection from his right.

The motorcyclist was injured and was taken to Konkuk University Medical Center. At that time, Nichkhun’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.056 percent, and his driver’s license was suspended.

The police checked for clues in videos recorded by nearby surveillance cameras to figure out exactly what happened when the accident occurred and reconfirmed with Nichkhun and the motorcyclist the precise circumstances.

On July 31, Nichkhun and the motorcyclist reached an amicable agreement, and on August 2, he underwent an additional investigation with JYP’s attorney.

The motorcyclist couldn’t move, so the police visited him in the hospital and completed the investigation. The written agreement was submitted to the police by the motorcyclist’s family.

A spokesperson for the police station said, “Nichkhun admitted he drove under the influence and regretted his wrongdoing.”

Since the accident, Nichkhun has stayed at home, taking time for self-restraint. The release of 2PM’s new Japanese album, which was scheduled for last month, has been postponed. He also was not able to participate in the JYP Nation concert, which was held on August 4.
