Psy has topped the U.S. iTunes Chart for a week.
Psy ranked first on the Top Songs Chart of the U.S. iTunes with his worldwide hit, “Gangnam Style,” the lead track of his sixth album, Psy 6甲, Pt.1, as of 8:30 a.m. on September 21.
Psy has ranked first on the chart for a week. Since he topped the chart on September 15, he was shortly beaten by Taylor Swift on September 16. However, he topped the chart again on the same day after appearing on such American popular TV shows as NBC’s Saturday Night Live and Today Show.
On September 22, he also ranked 64th on the Billboard Hot 100, which is the highest record as a Korean singer. According to the latest Billboard Chart, “Gangnam Style” has risen to number eleven on the Hot 100.
Because the song is still very popular all over the world, the rank is expected to rise continuously. As Psy is constantly gaining more points from his album sales and TV appearances, it’s expected that he will rank in the top ten of the chart very soon.
Psy will perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, which will be held in Las Vegas on September 21 and 22. This is a festival sponsored by Ryan Seacrest, the host of the popular American reality TV singing competition, American Idol. Usher, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bon Jovi, and Lil Wayne will also perform at the festival.
Coming back to Korea on September 25, Psy will hold a concert at Jamsil Sports Complex on October 2.
