Psy ranks sixth on the UK chart with Gangnam Style

Psy’s popularity is still high all over the world.


According to the latest chart of the Official Chart Company, a recognized music chart in the UK, issued on November 26 (Korean time), Psy ranked sixth on the Single Chart with “Gangnam Style.”


Climbing to number seven from thirteen, this proves the high popularity of “Gangnam Style.” This also attracts a lot of attention because many popular artists released new songs last week, which was the Thanksgiving holiday.


Psy once topped the chart on October 6. He also topped the Single Chart on iTunes.


As of 9:00 a.m. on November 25, Psy topped the Single Chart on the U.S. iTunes with the song. He was beaten by another artist on November 21 but topped the chart again in a week.


He has also topped the charts in such countries as Argentina, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cambodia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, and the Czech Republic.

On November 24, the music video of “Gangnam Style” became the most watched video on YouTube, beating that of Justin Bieber’s “Baby.” It has received over 822,150,000 hits so far.


The music video received a hundred million hits in 52 days (September 4), two hundred million hits in 66 days (September 18), three hundred million hits in 76 days (September 28), four hundred million hits in 86 days, five hundred million hits in 98 days (October 20), six hundred million hits in 109 days (October 31), and seven million hits in 120 days (November 11).
