A spokesperson for singer Lee Hyo Ri recently reconfirmed that she is not retiring from doing commercials. On November 28, Lee’s agency, B2M Entertainment, said, “As we said this morning, Lee is not retiring from the advertising world. If there are products or companies suited for Lee, she will appear in commercials.”

The agency had previously announced, that same morning, “Lee has become interested in protecting abandoned animals and the environment, and she has decided not to appear on commercials for liquor anymore. But if something comes along that is suitable for her, she may change her mind. It’s not true that she intends to retire from doing commercials. We haven’t decided whether we will sign a contract to do a commercial for a certain company. The matter is still under consideration.”

There had been talk that since Lee didn’t renew her contract with a soju brand that she has represented for the past five years, she would retire from doing advertisements. Since Lee has been one of the most prominent figures in commercials, this issue drew a lot of attention.

Lee will return to the singing world and release a new EP next spring. Next year will be the 15th anniversary of her debut as a singer.
