Psy recently ranked fifth on the U.S. Billboard.

On November 29 (Korean time), Billboard.com, the official website of the Billboard Chart, reported that Psy moved up from the previous seventh to fifth on the Hot 100 with “Gangnam Style.”

Ranking 64th on the chart in September, Psy had ranked second for seven consecutive weeks. He ranked fifth on the chart two weeks ago and seventh last week, but he moved up to fifth again this week.

Rihanna topped the chart again with “Diamonds.” Kesha ranked second with “Die Young,” and Maroon5 ranked third with “One More Night.”

The reason Psy’s ranking has gone up is that he’s still strong in the downloadable music market.

According to Nielsen BDS, “Gangnam Style” has been downloaded 229,000 times on the Digital Song. The song was also downloaded 910,000 times on the On-demand Song (paid streaming service).

However, it has dropped from 41st to 49th on the Radio Broadcasting.

The Billboard decides the ranking based on the record reported by Nielsen BDS, counting the numbers of the songs’ radio broadcasting, paid streaming, and sales.

Psy recently attended an event in Thailand and will attend the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong on November 30.

After that, Psy will go back to the U.S. and focus on promoting himself. He will release a new album in February or March next year.
