Ulala Session��s Im Yoon Taek dies from stomach cancer on February 11

Having been fighting his stomach cancer for a long time, Im Yoon Taek, of Ulala Session, died on the afternoon of February 11. A spokesperson for Im reported, “Im Yoon Taek died between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.” Im’s wake will be held in the funerary hall of Shinchon Severance Hospital. The coffin will be borne out on February 13. A spokesperson for Im says, “Detailed information about Im’s death and funeral will be officially reported soon.”

Im became popular through Mnet’s audition show Superstar K3. As a member of the performance group Ulala Session, Im appeared on Superstar K3 in 2011 and attracted a lot of attention with his passionate performance. The viewers got excited by Ulala Session’s performance on every episode of the show, which aired live, and Im touched many people by performing passionately as a leader of the group even though he was suffering from stomach cancer.

He married a woman three years his junior in August 2012, and the couple had a daughter in October. Im continued to work hard even while he was undergoing medical treatment, but he worried a lot of people at an official event he attended last month. On January 15, Ulala Session appeared on stage to receive the Most Popular Artist Award at the 8th Asian Model Awards, and Im did not look well at all. It was the last official event he attended.
