Rain will officially be discharged from the Army on the morning of July 10

Rain is to be discharged from the military by the Ministry of National Defense in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, at 8:00 a.m. on July 10 and will immediately greet his fans and meet the press. He entered the Army at a training center in Uijeongbu, South Korea, on Oct. 11, 2011, where he received basic military training for five weeks. Afterwards he served as a teaching assistant at a recruit training center belonging to the 5th Division until his assignment was changed to “entertainment soldier” in March 2011.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Defense started a strict crackdown on PR agents after the SBS program In Depth 21 revealed that PR agents were freely roaming around in casual wear and drinking alcohol after performing at an Army concert. With the recent scandals about celebrity soldiers still fresh in the minds of many, the Ministry of National Defense expressed in a statement that despite the current investigations of PR agents, Rain will be discharged as planned.
