A lead song from IUs third studio album, Purple Shoes, swept major music charts in Korea for a week by taking the number-one ranking on five real-time charts: Melon, Mnet, Olleh Music, Naver Music, and Daum Music.

The song, with music by Lee Minsoo and lyrics by Kim Ena, was motivated by Andersens fairly tale The Red Shoes. It is of a classic, vintage style based on the big-band swing sound of the 1930s. During the same week, While Living, sung by Kim Jinho, a former vocalist of the group SG Wannabe, ranked first on the real-time music charts of Soribada and Bugs, blocking IU’s complete domination of the charts.

“While Living” was sung by the late Chae Dongha with Kim Jinho when they were together in SG Wannabe and was given new life when Kim Jinho sang it on KBS 2TVs Immortal Songs on October 12.

T-aras Number Nine ranked first on the realtime chart of Monkey3, and Yoon Miraes Touch Love ranked at the top of the Cyworld Music Chart.
