��Guckkasten�� Wins Legal Battle Over Its Agency [Yedang Entertainment]

Rock band ��Guckkasten��(Ha Hyun-woo, Lee Jung-gil,Kim Ki-bum and Jeon Kyu-hom) won its legal battle against its entertainment agency, ��YEDANG COMPANY�� over its exclusive contract.

On July 9th, the Civil Department 36 of the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of ��Guckkasten�� in the lawsuit the rock band filed against ��YEDANG COMPANY�� for the ��confirmation of the exclusive contract��s invalidity��, saying that the contract the band signed on August 11th, 2011 is invalid��.

The Court dismissed the appeal filed by the entertainment agency which put in a claim for damages of 5 million won under the ground of the violation of the contract.

All members of ��Guckkasten�� filed a suit against its agency last October to check whether the exclusive contract is still valid and claim damages, on the grounds of unfair treatment,underpayment and unilateral notice system of management.

The Korean band insisted that the agency failed to fulfill its obligations on promotions and activities it promised at the time when they signed the contract in 2011. In response, the agency filed a counteraction for damage claim of 500 million won on the violation of the contract on May 21st, asserting that what ��Guckkasten�� is insisting is not the truth��.

The two parties have been entangled into the legal battle for months which included three rounds of pleading from last March.
