BLACKPINK Lisa 3 additional Guinness records

Lisa, a member of the girl group BLACKPINK, has been officially listed in 5 Guinness World Records (hereafter referred to as Guinness) categories.

According to Guinness World Records, England on the 24th (Korean time), Lisa broke world records by becoming the first K-pop soloist to win the MTV Video Music Awards (hereinafter referred to as VMAs) and the first K-pop solo award to win at the MTV Europe Music Awards (hereinafter referred to as MTV EMA). 

Lisa was named the main character in the BEST K-POP category at the 2022 MTV VMAs and the 2022 MTV EMA. 

The VMAs are one of the four most popular music awards in the US along with the Grammy Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, and the American Music Awards, and the MTV EMA is considered the largest music awards ceremony in Europe.

Lisa also broke the official record for the most followed K-pop artist on Instagram. As of the 19th, Lisa's official Instagram has 86.3 million followers, ranking 38th worldwide in terms of Instagram followers.

Previously, in 2021, Guinness World Records said, "Lisa's 'LALISA' music video has been certified as 'the most viewed solo artist's YouTube video in 24 hours'."

The music video for "LALISA" recorded 73.6 million views on YouTube on the first day of its release. In April 2019, American pop star Taylor Swift released her hit song 'ME!' Guinness explained that it broke the previous record for a music video (65.2 million).

Guinness World Records also announced that the 'LALISA' music video was also certified as 'the most viewed YouTube video of a K-pop solo artist in 24 hours'.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK, to which Lisa belongs, is conducting the largest world tour of a K-pop girl group, attracting about 1.5 million people. 

Last year, 14 performances in 7 cities in North America and 10 performances in 7 cities in Europe were successfully completed. BLACKPINK has since moved to Asia to meet fans, and will perform as a headliner at the ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’ in the US in April and the ‘Hyde Park British Summertime Festival’ in the UK in July.
