BLACKPINK Complete Year-Long World Tour
K-pop girl group BLACKPINK (consisting of Jisoo, Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa) concluded their massive year-long world tour with a spectacular finale at the Gocheok Sky Dome, delivering meaningful closing remarks.
BLACKPINK held their 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] FINALE IN SEOUL' on the evening of the 17th, following their performance on the 16th.
Starting in Seoul a year ago and ending with this finale, BLACKPINK embarked on their largest-ever world tour, including encore performances, covering 34 cities across North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East, totaling 64 shows. The Seoul concert, which also sold out, added 35,000 fans to the tour, resulting in a historic milestone of drawing a total of 1.8 million spectators.
The concert on the 17th was especially noteworthy because it marked the first time during this tour that BLACKPINK performed both online and offline simultaneously. Following their dance challenge videos, BLACKPINK took a lap around the venue and performed encore stages, including "Stay," "Boombayah," and "Yeah Yeah Yeah." They returned to the stage once more to take photos with fans, holding up placards that read, "Let's make this moment last forever."
Jisoo expressed her gratitude, saying, "A year ago today, we started in Seoul, and I'm happy that we could finish the finale here. Thank you, BLINK, for giving us beautiful memories. While performing on stage, I thought about many things. I'm thankful that we could do it without getting hurt and stay healthy. BLINK gave us strength, and I'm grateful for that. Everyone worked hard."
Rosé, reflecting on her second world tour, said, "It feels like just the day before yesterday. I traveled around the world by plane all year long, and I feel like I've become one with BLINK. I'm happy."
Lisa, marking her 2,596th day since meeting BLINK, said, "This tour was possible because we did it with BLINK. Thanks to you, we could perform in such amazing venues. Whether the weather was good or bad, you enjoyed it with us, and I'm thankful. Thank you for allowing me to experience wonderful things and for lighting up my twenties. I love you."
Jennie expressed her gratitude to the members and said, "I want to say that the members worked so hard. We had to spend a lot of time on planes and traveling to various places, but the four of us had the heart to lead each other healthily. I want to thank the members. We celebrated our seventh anniversary since debut, and when I look back on that time, I wanted to show you a cool and good image. I'm happy that we could finish the finale in Seoul, even though we couldn't meet you often in Korea. Thank you to everyone. The staff also worked hard for a year, and I know that they gave us strength. I want to enjoy this honor together. Thank you, BLINK, for always supporting us. We will continue to be a cool BLACKPINK in the future."
These remarks are seen as a sign of the possibility of BLACKPINK renewing their contract. BLACKPINK has been maintaining a steady record of achievements and global popularity since their debut, continuing their contract with YG Entertainment. With the members' popularity and the group's successful activities, it is expected that BLACKPINK's journey will continue.
