IVE Returns Home in Triumph After Lollapalooza—Gearing Up for August Comeback
IVE is set to make their return this August.
On July 24, their agency Starship Entertainment announced, “IVE (An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo) is in full-scale preparation for a comeback at the end of August.”
This will mark IVE’s first release in about seven months since their third mini-album “IVE EMPATHY” dropped in February. That album sold over 1.04 million copies in its first week, making IVE five-time million sellers. With the pre-release track “REBEL HEART”, they achieved a “Perfect All-Kill” (PAK) on Korea’s major digital music charts, showcasing their strong digital presence.
They also achieved 11 music show wins with “REBEL HEART” and 4 wins with title track “ATTITUDE”, totaling 15 trophies from music shows for that album. “REBEL HEART” spent 10 consecutive weeks on Billboard’s Global (Excl. US) chart and was recently selected for Billboard’s “25 Best K-pop Songs of 2025 (So Far): Critic’s Picks”, further solidifying their global impact.
On July 12 and 20, IVE performed on the main stages of Lollapalooza Berlin and Lollapalooza Paris, respectively. They became the first K-pop girl group to appear at Lollapalooza for two consecutive years and across three cities, setting a rare and remarkable milestone. Their high-quality live performances and exceptional stage presence won roaring cheers from local audiences, earning them the title of “K-Festival Performers You Can Trust.”
Since their debut in 2021, IVE has built a strong group identity centered around the message, “True love begins with loving oneself,” promoting themes of self-assurance and confident individuality. While maintaining their signature style, the group has explored various genres, evolving both musically and thematically. Through “IVE EMPATHY”, they expanded their theme of self-love into empathy for others, earning praise for their deeper and more mature narrative.
With each release, IVE has delivered fresh, unexpected concepts, earning attention for their fearless transformation and artistic growth. All eyes are now on their upcoming comeback to see what new direction they’ll take next.
Meanwhile, IVE is scheduled to appear at the 2025 Coupang Play Series opener on July 30, participating in the opening kickoff and halftime performance of the match between Team K-League and Newcastle United.
