샘김이 약 2년만의 신곡으로 돌아왔다.
23일 오후 6시 샘김의 새 싱글 'The Juice(더 주스)'가 온라인 음원 사이트를 통해 공개됐다.
약 2년만에 발표한 싱글 'The Juice'는 올드 살롱 스타일의 피아노와 후렴구의 일렉 기타 연주가 돋보이는 레트로 훵크(Funk) 팝·합 장르 곡이다. 샘김이 느끼는 여러가지 부담감들로부터 소모되고 고갈된 에너지를 'Juice'로 표현해 자전적인 이야기를 담아냈다.

샘김의 속마음을 들여다보는 듯한 솔직하고도 표현력이 돋보이는 키치한 가사가 깊은 인상을 남긴다. 특히 샘김 특유의 폭발적인 가성은 물론 신스 베이스와 오토튠 보컬, 라틴 스타일이 접목된 랩 라인이 귀를 즐겁게한다.
함께 공개된 뮤직비디오는 가사의 내용을 그대로 옮겨놨다. 샘김의 혼란스러운 감정을 다양한 오브제와 화면 구성을 통해 풀어내 몰입감을 더한다. 또한 데뷔 이후 처음으로 선보이는 샘김의 댄스퍼포먼스도 인상적이다.
