Director Hong Sang-soo's 35th feature film 'Nowhere to Go' has been officially invited to the International Competition section of the 79th Locarno Film Festival.

On the 9th (local time), the festival's executive committee announced that Director Hong's 'Nowhere to Go' has been officially invited to the International Competition section.

With this, 'Nowhere to Go' becomes the fifth film from Director Hong's filmography to be invited to the Locarno Film Festival, following 'Suyucheon' (2024), 'Riverside Hotel' (2018), 'Right Now, Wrong Then' (2015), and 'Our Shiny' (2013).

In its invitation letter, the festival stated, "We were deeply moved by how the film conveys all images, all words, and all encounters of life's meaning, beauty, and complexity through poetic expression and sophisticated technique. It once again shows why Director Hong is one of the great masters of our time."

In 'Nowhere to Go', actors Kim Min-hee, who has appeared in many of Director Hong's previous works, along with Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Seok-ho, Park Mi-so, and Choi Myung-gil, are featured. Notably, this marks the first collaboration between Choi Myung-gil and Director Hong.

The 79th Locarno Film Festival will be held for ten days from August 5 to 15.
