Actor Byun Yo-han attempted a striking transformation through a chilling villainous role.

On the afternoon of the 13th, a press screening for the film 'Gyeongju Journey' (directed by Kim Mi-jo) was held at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Following the screening, a press conference took place attended by actors Lee Jung-eun, Gong Hyo-jin, Park So-dam, Lee Yeon, Byun Yo-han, and director Kim Mi-jo.

The film 'Gyeongju Journey' is a family revenge story about four mothers and daughters who embark on a journey to "kill" after eight years of waiting for their youngest daughter, 'Gyeongju', who never returned from a school trip.

Byun Yo-han played Baek Seong-hyun in the film, delivering a chilling villain performance that left viewers unsettled. Notably, Byun Yo-han is known to have appeared in this project without receiving any salary, drawing attention.

Byun Yo-han: "I have a prior connection with Je Jak-sa (CEO) from when we both debuted together in a project. Thanks to the excellent script and talented actors, I was able to join this film."

Byun Yo-han: "I have worked with senior actress Lee Jung-eun on four projects. Every time I meet her, I learn and draw inspiration, so I always want to work together. As for senior actress Gong Hyo-jin, I am a huge fan. From the moment casting news broke, I felt there was no reason not to participate." He added, "Actress Park So-dam is from Dongmun High School. She has been acting skillfully since our school days, and I wondered how much she had grown. As for actress Lee Yeon, she seems like a naturally gifted actor. I happened to see her performance in the media and thought, 'This kid is really good.' When I watched all four of them act, I felt they each had different energies but shared something similar, and because I wanted to grow as an actor, I decided to join."

Byun Yo-han, who underwent a shocking transformation in the film, added: "It might sound odd for me to say this myself, but the director told me she wanted me to completely abandon my good looks. Thanks to her, I was able to attempt such a bold transformation."

Meanwhile, 'Gyeongju Journey' is scheduled for release on August 26.
