Actor Jung Hae-in will not attend the screening of the animated film "Gill."

On the 17th, FNC Entertainment, Jung Hae-in's agency, told StarNews that "Jung Hae-in cannot attend the 'Gill' screening due to pre-scheduled commitments."

Some speculated that Jung Hae-in's absence from the 'Gill' screening was influenced by the controversy surrounding Ha-young's great-great-grandfather's collaboration with Japan. In response, the agency explained that he had been unable to attend since before the Ha-young-related controversy arose, due to prior scheduling conflicts.

The 'Gill' team also issued an official statement: "Jung Hae-in's absence from the screening is unrelated to any specific controversy and stems from previously confirmed filming schedules for another project. The decision regarding his attendance was already coordinated before the controversy emerged. Jung Hae-in will still participate in all other promotional events for 'Gill' that he can attend, as originally planned."

Based on the novel of the same name by Gu Byeong-mo, "Gill" tells the story of a boy named Gon who gains gills after falling into deep water. Jung Hae-in provides the voice for the protagonist Gon, while actors Kang Ha-neul, Yoo Jae-myung, Kim Sun-young, and Lee Cheong-a also contributed their voices to the film.

"Gill" is scheduled for release on September 9.
