Actress Kim Go-eun has shared her thoughts after being selected as the 'Beckdelian' in the series category of 'Beckdel Day 2026'.

On the 27th, Beckdel Day 2026 announced that it had chosen Kim Go-eun as this year's Beckdelian in the series category. Following the selection of three series starring Kim Go-eun — "Eun-jung and Sang-yeon," "The Confessionist," and "Cellar Door 3" — all of which were named to this year's 'Beckdel Choice 10' in the series category, she was also selected as a Beckdelian actress.

Kim Go-eun said, "I am always grateful for the opportunity to act with good works and characters. It was an enjoyable and meaningful time for me as an actress to meet characters living different lives." She added, "Thank you for viewing the works I have been part of favorably and selecting me as a 'Beckdelian.' I will strive to show good performances through new characters and stories in the future."

Over the past year, Kim Go-eun has demonstrated a wide acting spectrum by moving across different genres and characters. The fact that three of her starring works were selected for this year's 'Beckdel Choice 10' drew attention not only as an individual achievement for the actress but also for its industrial significance. Lee Im-hyeong, director of Beckdel Day 2026, evaluated this as "not merely a record of prolific output, but a signal from the industry," noting that the simultaneous selection of these three works carries meaning beyond coincidence, as it connects the choices of star actors to the sustainability of female narratives.

In particular, "Cellar Door 3" drew attention for securing both popularity and continuity by maintaining a female-led drama centered on women's psychology through its third season.

Marking its seventh year, Beckdel Day is a content festival that highlights the values of gender equality and cultural diversity through films and series. Each year, it selects 'Beckdel Choice 10' in the film and series categories and chooses Beckdelians from among the creators involved in the selected works in the director, writer, actor, and producer categories.

Beckdel Day 2026 will be held on August 29 and 30 at Seoul Yeonnam-dong.
