Director Song Il-gon of "Still Radiant" revealed that casting actress Kim Hye-ja was "the most difficult thing in my life."

An outdoor stage greeting for the film "Still Radiant" was held on the 8th at the Loop Theater of the Cinema Hall in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Director Song Il-gon and actresses Kim Hye-ja, Park Seo-kyung, Choi Ju-eun, Moon Seong-hyun, and Lee Se-young attended the event.

"Still Radiant" is a work depicting the story of Soon-ok, who reunites with her close friend after 60 years, the one she shared her most radiant moments in life with.

On this day, the MC said, "It is certain that 'Still Radiant' would not have been made without Kim Hye-ja."

Director Song Il-gon stated, "This was the most difficult casting I have ever done in my life," adding, "I heard that after the drama she recently filmed, she did not want to work much. She said she wanted to live quietly like a wildflower, watching the pretty flowers blooming in front of her house."

Director Song conveyed, "So I felt I could not let it go and wrote a letter with my best effort. I carefully explained what kind of story this work is and what kind of character I hoped she would take on."

He said, "Even so, she initially refused. After that, we had meals together about six times and continued talking, explaining why I wanted her to do this work and what the resonance of this work is. She said she would want to act if she could well convey the resonance of this work to the audience through herself."

Director Song expressed his affection, saying, "It was the most difficult casting, but I am truly grateful that we were able to work together so dramatically in the end," adding, "I enjoyed and felt honored throughout the filming. Being able to capture a close-up of Kim Hye-ja on camera is itself a very wonderful thing for a director."
