Actress Shin Min-a shared her sense of burden regarding remakes while recalling the time she took on a character previously portrayed by the late Choi Jin-sil.

The Actors House event for the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) was held on the 10th at the Shinsegae Department Store Culture Hall in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Actress Shin Min-a attended the event to look back on her journey as an actress, marking her 25th anniversary since debut.

On this day, Shin Min-a recalled reinterpreting a character previously played by the late Choi Jin-sil in her own way when she appeared in the film "My Love, My Bride."

Shin Min-a stated, "Whether it is 'My Love, My Bride,' 'Pupil,' or 'Remarried Empress,' they are all works based on original sources. I have done quite a few remakes, and the sense of burden is enormous."

She continued, "The script for 'My Love, My Bride' was well adapted to fit the times at that point. From the perspective of the character I played, I could fully empathize with the female lead," explaining, "I believed it was a work that would resonate in any era, so I chose it confidently."

In particular, mentioning the late Choi Jin-sil who played the same role in the original work, Shin Min-a said, "Senior Choi Jin-sil expressed the character so beautifully, so I wanted to try expressing it in my own way," adding, "I am glad that many people found it interesting and viewed it favorably."

"My Love, My Bride," in which Shin Min-a appeared, is a work released in 2014 that depicts the realistic married life of Yeong-min and Mi-young, a couple in their fourth year of marriage. It is a remake of the film of the same name directed by Lee Myung-se, released in 1990, in which Park Jung-hoon and the late Choi Jin-sil starred.
