Virtual idol group PLAVE opens a new musical chapter with their fifth mini-album, 'HYPERDRIVE.'

PLAVE's new mini-album, 'HYPERDRIVE,' will be released at 6 p.m. on the 12th through major music streaming platforms.

This album is PLAVE's first new release in approximately six months since their previous mini-album, 'Caligo Pt.2,' was released in April. It features a total of five tracks, including the title song 'Star Trace,' showcasing the group's wide musical spectrum.

Ahead of this comeback, PLAVE released a challenge video utilizing the racing concept of the title track 'Star Trace.' The video, released on their official YouTube channel on September 22, features the five members wearing racing jackets and performing in sync with the song's highlights on a track, drawing enthusiastic responses from fans.

On the 9th, a teaser for the 'Star Trace' music video was also released on the group's official YouTube channel. The vertical-format video begins with shots of the members speeding down a track in racing cars, rapidly intercutting scenes of race preparation with intense performances while offering a glimpse of the song's highlights. In particular, it depicts the members forming two teams—'Yatatz' consisting of Bambi and Eunho, and 'Madbadz' consisting of Hamin, Yejun, and Noah—as they take to the track, intriguingly portraying the competitive dynamic between the two groups. Combined with dynamic video direction, the teaser heightened anticipation for the full music video.

Released as a preview during their recent world tour performances, 'Star Trace' is PLAVE's first EDM-based dance pop track. Layered synths and heavy beats create a vast sense of space, while lyrics filled with cosmic love and faith depict the connection between PLAVE and their fans, linking Asterum and Terra.

The other tracks also feature diverse genres and moods, broadening the album's scope. 'Kkun' is a lazy, dreamy song with a smooth bossa nova rhythm, while 'Rain on a Blue Sky' is a rock track blending acoustic guitar with clear vocals. 'The Answer Is Yes' is a pop track filled with bright, positive energy, and 'Rewind' is an R&B pop track characterized by a refreshing yet romantic melody.

Notably, the final track, 'Rewind,' marks PLAVE's first collaboration with external songwriters, featuring hitmaker Kenji and production team KZLAB on composition. The members reflected on past love and their youth in the lyrics, expressing gratitude for moments from the past. The addition of Kenji and KZLAB's compositions to PLAVE's musical identity adds another dimension to the album.

Meanwhile, PLAVE is accelerating its global activities with its first world tour, 'KEEP IT MANIC.' Starting with performances in Korea, the group is scheduled to meet fans globally by visiting Singapore on October 17, Taipei on October 23 and 24, Macau on October 31 and November 1, and Los Angeles on November 14.
