T.O.P, formerly of BIGBANG, has once again sparked controversy after visiting his own birthday cafe with Nana, formerly of After School, immediately following an apology to fans who expressed disappointment.

On the 2nd, T.O.P visited a cafe set up by fans to celebrate his birthday, accompanied by Nana. This was revealed when videos taken by fans spread online.

In the video, the two appeared at T.O.P's birthday cafe wearing masks. T.O.P smiled brightly as he looked around the interior of the cafe decorated by fans, while Nana filmed him with a pleased expression.

Netizens who saw this offered various opinions. Many netizens reacted with comments such as "Wow, the fans are angels," "It looks like they're going out in the open," "The fans opened this cafe for you, and you brought your girlfriend?" "Are both of them out of their minds? I get that they're dating, but how can they come to a birthday cafe together?" "Neither of them has any consideration," "An idol visiting with his girlfriend, and that girlfriend even taking photos of him with his fans... I never imagined it," and "T.O.P and Nana liked the cafe video."

On the other hand, some expressed understanding of T.O.P's and Nana's actions, with comments such as "So what? It's a public relationship," "They're just blinded by love," and "They look good together."

T.O.P and Nana recently began their public relationship. On the 2nd of last month, an official from T.O.P's side told StarNews, "T.O.P and Nana first met while filming a music video and formed a connection. They grew closer afterward and developed into a romantic relationship around June." Nana appeared in T.O.P's music video in January.

Subsequently, on the 9th of last month, the side of T.O.P's fan site Choi Seung-hyun.com (CHOIDOT) announced its closure after 20 years since its establishment in 2006, stating that they could not tolerate T.O.P and his agency Topspot Pictures ignoring reality and evading responsibility, as well as their attitude of taking fans' dedication for granted.

In response, T.O.P posted an apology on his SNS on the 1st, saying, "I want to convey my sincere feelings to the administrators of Choi Seung-hyun.com who have been with me for the long period of 20 years." T.O.P stated, "Even at times when I myself found it hard to believe in me, you believed in just one person—me—and always gave me the strength to make music again through your warm hearts and precious support. I will never forget in my lifetime the time and effort you poured out to consistently guard that place, as well as the precious sincerity of all the fans who joined together with their hearts."

He added, "I hope that the very precious time we spent together does not remain as misunderstanding or become a wound for each other. I know all too well that the interest and love you send me are by no means taken for granted, so I will live my life carrying only gratitude deep in my heart. I sincerely apologize to the administrators of Choi Seung-hyun.com and the fans who have been misunderstood and hurt because of me. I earnestly hope that my sincerity reaches you."

However, T.O.P has faced criticism for lacking consideration for his fans by going on a public date with Nana at his birthday cafe immediately after posting the apology.

Meanwhile, T.O.P was indicted in 2016 on charges of marijuana use and sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence, after which he took a break. He later returned as an actor through Season 2 of the Netflix original series "Squid Game," released in December 2024, and also made a comeback as a singer in April, continuing his activities.

Nana, formerly of After School, is currently active as an actress and recently met viewers through the Netflix series "Scandal."
