Defender Kim Do-yeon (18, Chungnam Mechanical High School Grade 3), who came through the youth system of K League 1 club Daejeon Hana Cityzen, has joined the German Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich.

Daejeon announced on the 27th that left-back Kim Do-yeon is moving to Munich.

Kim, who played for Daejeon's under-15 and under-18 teams, signed a semi-professional contract with the club in April, earning recognition of his potential. He then underwent a local signing test in Munich from last month's 22nd through this month's 4th and was ultimately accepted.

This marks the third time since Hana Financial Group acquired Daejeon that a player from the club's youth system has advanced to Europe, following Bae Jun-ho (Stoke City) and Yoon Do-young (Magdeburg).

Daejeon stated, "Kim Do-yeon's greatest strengths lie in his accurate and sharp crosses, his high work rate, and his exceptional ability to link up play with teammates," adding that this is a "meaningful achievement demonstrating the excellence of the club's youth development system."

Through the club, Kim Do-yeon expressed his gratitude: "I sincerely thank Coach Hwang Sun-hong, the coaching staff, and the support staff who guided me. Although it was a short period, spending time with professional players was extremely valuable and happy. I will always cheer for Daejeon from afar."
