Ahead of the matchup against Busan KCC, Moon Kyung-un, head coach of Suwon KT, presented running basketball and a complete shutdown of Heo Hoon as the keys to victory, targeting an opponent facing a back-to-back schedule.

KT will face KCC in an away game of the 2026-2027 KCC Pro Basketball regular season at Busan Sajik Indoor Gymnasium at 4:30 p.m. on the 11th.

After losing the opening home game against Seoul Samsung, KT has won two consecutive games (2 wins, 1 loss) by defeating Changwon LG and Goyang Sono in succession. The team is aiming for a three-game winning streak on its first away trip of the season.

Before the game, Moon Kyung-un told reporters, "The opponent is playing a back-to-back game. We have prepared with the view that we have a chance to win if we focus on running basketball and play transition games."

Regarding the absence of the opposing star scorer Heo Woong due to a pelvic injury, Moon warned against Heo Hoon and Louis King, who will become the pillars of the offense. Moon said, "With Heo Woong out, there will be many situations where Heo Hoon and King have to handle the offense." He added, "We have prepared to contain Heo Hoon from the first quarter by having three perimeter players cooperate on defense."

Han Hee-won was designated as the primary defender to guard Heo Hoon. Moon explained, "I instructed Han Hee-won to apply pressure so that Heo Hoon cannot receive the ball in his preferred position before he gets it, rather than after he has the ball. Other perimeter players, such as Bass and Moon Jung-hyun, will also focus their defensive efforts on supporting against Heo Hoon."

Regarding the starting lineup, Moon prioritized defensive stability. "We considered putting Jeon Seong-hyeon in first upon hearing about Heo Woong's absence, but we chose defensive stability over trying to open things up with offense first," Moon said. "If the court gets tight, I plan to bring in Jeon Seong-hyeon or Seo Min-su."

Ace Paris Bass, who is leading the team's upward momentum, has shown overwhelming firepower, averaging 29.3 points (ranked first overall in scoring), 11.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists over three games.

Moon identified the second and third quarters as the decisive moments. "The key is how many unmarked chances we can create in transition situations rather than in set offenses," Moon emphasized. "It is important how much running basketball we play against Sean Long in the second and third quarters. I judge that Sean Long's focus is not very good in back-to-back games."

Moon also addressed the pressure of embarking on the team's first away trip this season. "We have had a day off, so we are physically better off, but since this is KT's first away game of the season, the burden of an unfamiliar environment is a concern," Moon said. However, he vowed to win, stating, "If we just get through today's game well, we can ride a good momentum."
