David Beckham (51) experienced an unexpected "little kid humiliation" next to the 229cm "giant" Yao Ming (46).

The UK's "The Sun" reported on the 13th (Korean time), "Beckham sat side by side with NBA legend Yao Ming at a basketball event in Macau, China, showing an overwhelming physical size difference."

The two recently watched the second preseason matchup between the Houston Rockets and the Dallas Mavericks at the Venetian Arena in Macau from courtside. The sight of Beckham, an icon of English football, and Yao Ming, a legend of the Houston Rockets, sitting side by side in the best seats enjoying the game instantly captured the attention of on-site spectators.

Beckham is a world-renowned football icon who captivated his era as captain of the England national team and played for top clubs such as Manchester United and Real Madrid. Yao Ming is also a legendary basketball player representing Asia beyond China, having performed brilliantly with the Houston Rockets and been inducted into the Hall of Fame. The unusual meeting of these two sports legends, who each reached the pinnacle of their respective sports, became a topic of conversation in itself.

On-site cameras focused on capturing the enormous size difference between the two. The media explained, "Beckham is not small at 183cm, but he looked particularly tiny next to Yao Ming, who stands at 229cm. Even while seated, Yao Ming completely overwhelmed Beckham's physique."

It added, "The clean white sneakers Yao Ming wore appeared about three times larger than Beckham's standard-sized shoes. Additionally, the knee of Yao Ming, who sat comfortably with his legs bent, reached up to Beckham's chest height, astonishing onlookers."

Global fans reacted fervently on social media (SNS) upon seeing the surreal two-shot. Fans left humorous comments such as "Beckham looks like a kid next to Yao Ming," "Isn't this a fake photo made by AI?," "It's a real-life David and Goliath," and "He looks like a young boy who came to watch basketball with his dad."
