The defending champions of men's professional volleyball, Korean Air, secured a shutout victory over Hyundai Capital in the opening match of the new season. Head Coach Henan Dal Zotto reflected, "It was an extremely difficult game filled with tension."

Korean Air defeated Hyundai Capital 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-22) at their home opening match of the 2026~2027 HK Hyeongguk Financial V-League men's division, held on the 31st at Incheon Gyeoyang Gymnasium.

Korean Air, who had previously won both matchups against Hyundai Capital in the pre-season Cup Tournament, also rang out a victory bell in the season opener against their rivals and opponents from last season's championship finals.

In a post-match press conference, Head Coach Henan stated, "It was an extremely difficult game with a lot of tension. It is hard to say that we easily resolved things just because the result was 3-0. The players faced many difficult situations during the match." He added, "In particular, in the second and third sets, we were constantly trailing. Fortunately, it seems the players showed good concentration at the end, allowing us to tie the score and take the lead."

Head Coach Henan continued, "Today's 3-0 result may appear comfortable and without major struggles, but the match was tense and exciting throughout." He added, "Not only our team, but Hyundai Capital as well showed performance at a level that, at times, was no less than that of world-class professional teams."

In response to a question from reporters about whether there was an atmosphere suggesting "any team could win," he called it "the most dangerous thought." He emphasized, "When players hold such thoughts, they become complacent and can fall into danger. I am telling the players not to fall into that kind of danger. It is important to be able to consistently show this form through training and daily routines."

Head Coach Henan said, "Ketjinski's utilization will vary depending on the opposing team and our team's style." He added, "Not only our team, but no team can say they are 100% complete. There are new players, players returning from military service, and teams that need to readjust their chemistry even after the KOVO Cup. Our team is also in that process."
