Coach Park Kyung-soo, the "Captain" who led KT Wiz to its first-ever combined championship in franchise history, will open the curtain on the 2026 Korea Series with a grand start. The ceremonial first pitcher and national anthem singer for Game 1 of the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO Korea Series, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on the 3rd at Suwon KT Wiz Park, have been confirmed.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced on the 3rd, "Coach Park Kyung-soo, KT's eternal franchise star and current coach, will take the pitcher's mound as the ceremonial first pitcher for Game 1 of the Korea Series to be held today."

After donning the KT uniform in 2015, Coach Park served as a veteran infielder who anchored the team. During the 2021 Korea Series, he drove the team to its first combined championship in franchise history with selfless defensive plays and captured the Korea Series MVP award. Transitioning into a coaching role starting from the 2025 season, he led his juniors as part of the coaching staff this season as well, contributing to the team's regular season championship.

The national anthem, which opens the autumn baseball festival, will be performed by the emotional singer-songwriter Ha Hyun-sang. Ha entered the music scene in 2018 and made his mark on the public as a skilled vocalist after winning JTBC's reality show "Super Band." Since then, he has established a unique musical color by releasing self-composed songs with delicate and deep emotions, such as "Lighthouse" and "Fireworks."
