The newly established Gwangju SOOP Supers will compete for the first time in front of their home fans.
SOOP will hold its inaugural home game against Gimcheon Korea Expressway Corporation at 7 p.m. on the 5th at SOOP Stadium in Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Metropolitan City.
This match marks the first time SOOP Supers will appear before regular league home fans. Officially launched through an inauguration ceremony last October, SOOP Supers entered the 2026-2027 season with an away game against Incheon Heungkuk Life on the 1st. This home opener is the team's second match of the season, and they will challenge for their first victory against Korea Expressway Corporation.
SOOP Supers, led by head coach Kim Se-jin, are navigating the season centered around foreign player Odriana Fitzmorris (registered name: Odriana), Asian quota player Izu Xue (registered name: Xue), and players such as Han Da-hye, Go Ui-jeong, and Go Ye-rim. SOOP Supers is determined to deliver strong performances in home games and secure their first win of the season.
Prior to the match, various performances and fan participation events will be held. Starting at 4:30 p.m., 'Rockcast with Cheer Up Supers' will take place outside the stadium, hosted by Seo Su-gil, Chief Vision Officer (CVO). Rockcast is a content series featuring live performances by music streamers active on SOOP, aiming to build excitement for the home opener together with spectators at the venue.
Inside the stadium, celebratory performances by singer Jung Dong-ha, breakdancing team 'Attis,' and cheerleaders 'Super Girls' will follow. Additionally, a ceremony to appoint streamer ambassadors and an opening pitch involving club officials and representatives from Jeonnam-Gwangju Metropolitan City will be conducted. An event zone where spectators can directly participate will also be operated within the stadium.
Meanwhile, SOOP has launched a 'Volleyball Page' where users can access various volleyball matches and content in one place, ranging from professional volleyball to amateur leagues and international tournaments. The page provides schedules and news for major domestic and international volleyball competitions, including the V-League, and allows viewers to watch key moments and highlight videos.
