Singer Jin So-mi's father, Matthew Dowma, revealed the racial discrimination he experienced during his marriage.

On the 3rd, a video was released on actor Sunwoo Yong-yeo's YouTube channel showing Sunwoo Yong-yeo and Matthew Dowma meeting in Busan.

In the video, Matthew said, "My wife has suffered a lot because of me," and added, "At the time, we had to register our marriage at Seoul city hall. Before stamping the (marriage registration) seal, the official asked, 'Why didn't you marry a Korean man?'"

He continued, "Shouldn't this be something that makes the news? But back then, such incidents were common."

In response, Sunwoo Yong-yeo expressed anger, saying, "This would never happen in the U.S. Why would they interfere whether these people get married or not?"

Matthew added, "Everything became complicated because of me. Things have changed a lot now, but my wife had many difficult times back then."

Meanwhile, Matthew Dowma is married to a Korean actress and has two daughters, with his eldest daughter being Jin So-mi.
