'Solo Leveling 5' participant Shin Hyun-woo announced his new beginning as an actor.

Shin appeared in the segment 'Hong Seok-cheon's Useful Box' of the web variety program 'Hong Seok-cheon's Jewelry Box,' which was released on the 9th.

Having gained public recognition through Netflix's dating reality show 'Solo Leveling 5,' Shin recently revealed that he is preparing for full-scale activities as an actor. In response, Hong Seok-cheon offered advice: "His visuals are too precious to be used only in sports. He may grow more by acting than by doing variety shows. Shin Hyun-woo is a friend who possesses enough charm to attract people."

Shin, who has experienced both sports and acting, explained, "Broadcasting and sports are similar in that they express stories through the body and require flexibility suited to the situation. However, while sports involve excluding emotions and strictly executing practiced routines, acting feels more difficult because it requires using rich emotions to evoke empathy from viewers."

Shin cited actor Lee Byung-hun as his role model, stating, "I am studying and practicing detailed acting by watching masterpieces like 'Joint Security Area' and 'Chaser.' Initially, I focused on practicing monologues from famous works, but now I am also trying creative acting. Along with my academy peers, I am exploring diverse genres such as crime dramas and noir to broaden my spectrum."

Additionally, Shin expressed his ambition: "I will continue to challenge myself steadily toward my goals, just as I do now. No matter the environment, I will remain grateful for the given situations and adapt with a mindset of always learning. I will do my best in the future to reach my ultimate goal of becoming an actor."
