"Singer Koyote's Shin Ji has sparked debate after it was revealed she declined an invitation to throw the ceremonial first pitch at a KT Wiz baseball game.

Recently, online communities circulated stories that Shin Ji performed at a KT Wiz event but refused to throw the ceremonial first pitch.

Through her YouTube video, Shin Ji explained: "A while ago, Koyote was invited to perform at the KT baseball stadium. Since it was scheduled after the game ended and we had done similar events before, I agreed. However, a representative later contacted me and asked if I could also throw the ceremonial first pitch. As a Hanwha fan, I felt uncomfortable doing that and declined."

Shin Ji added that she later learned KT and Hanwha Eagles were playing at an event she attended, saying, "I didn't realize it was against Hanwha. If I had known, I wouldn't have worn a Hanwha uniform there?" The video included the caption: "We'll wait for you to throw the pitch for Hanwha."

Some KT fans expressed displeasure with comments such as, "You're upset because you can't wear orange clothes to watch the game? Yet you still came to perform just to earn money? Do you think our team is so weak?" "We know you're a Hanwha fan, but why target KT Wiz?" and "I don't want to see a singer's performance with that kind of attitude."

Additionally, it was noted that Shin Ji had previously participated in ceremonial first pitch events alongside Koyote member Kim Jong-min during 2015 games between Samsung Lions and LG Twins. Some pointed out, "Didn't you throw the first pitch at other teams' games before?" Meanwhile, Shin Ji recently made the controversial video private.

Conversely, others argued, "This is excessive. Performing is one thing, but even players from opposing teams can participate in ceremonial first pitches or batting. If you're a Hanwha fan, does that mean you can't attend performances by the other nine teams?" and "Isn't this actually being polite?"
